Breaking the Monopoly

"We want to cooperate with the world using an approach of change and we must employ all our capabilities to break the monopoly of global powers," Ahmadinejad was quoted as saying by Press TV.
Since the invasion of Iraq by US led coalition forces in 2003 I have been active blogging against the Neoconservatives, their agenda outlined in Project for a New American Century (PNAC) and the draconian measures employed by the Bush administration.

That is five years of ceaseless effort to point out the dangerous errors in their calculations, the one-sidedness of their perspective, the inherent racism behind their assumptions, the immanent danger to the world and the corrupt forces working to enforce this agenda.

I've taken a lot of heat in this process. I have been accused of everything you can imagine; and there is no four letter word in the book that hasn't been thrown at me in the process.

I danced when Barack Hussein Obama was elected President of the USA, and I will dance when President Ahmadinejad is removed as president.
Ahmadinejad Power? No thanks
When comes to breaking the monopoly of power, it is an idea I myself suggested early in 2008, long before Obama announced his candidacy for the Democrats.

I openly endorsed the breaking of the monopoly of power held by "white Christian males" as O'Relly phrased it in a conversation with McCain.

I believed it was a good idea, the road ahead, a way to secure a more just, a more peaceful and a more united world. And I still believe it today.

But this breaking of the monopoly does not include Ahmadinejad and Ayatollah Khamenei in Iran. By their actions against their own people they have forfitted the right to participate.
Breaking of power monopoly postponed
For as long as the breaking of the monopoly of power held by the West involves Ahmadinejad, Khamenei and their likes, there will be no such thing.

For as long as it will directly or implicitly support or strengthen the oppressive Iranian regime I will not endorse a breaking of Western hegemony.

I will fully endorse all legal sanctions against the oppressive Iranian regime, as well as policies that will weaken their ability to impose their imperial aspirations on others.

Did I mention I would support Iran's right to nuclear facilities, if it wasn't for Ahmadinejad being hailed by clerics as a "champion" of Iran while the opposition is being repressed to silence through threats, violence and legal action?
Ahmadinejad & Co.: You just blew it
Did I mention that I even considered Iranian pressure on Israel a kind of check to unbridled Israeli land-grabbing and disregard for Palestinian rights, covered as she is by unwavering support from USA?

Did I mention that I was among those pointing out that there is no proof of allegations Iran is aiming to go nuclear in the military sense, when other less tempered voices tried to rally support for fierce sanctions or even military action against Iran?

Did I mention I have been one of the many outspoken voices against the US "War on Terrorism"?, also objecting to McCain's disgraceful "Bomb Iran" performance to the melody of Beach Boy's all time classic "I Get Around"?

Well, you blew it Ahmadinejad. As it is: No nukes. Not one finger lifted in defense or support of your regime, or any measure of serious attention to your missives to the world.
Iranian government arrested the development
By stuffing the ballots, by locking down Iran, by unleashing the fury of the fanatics of the Basij on the citizens of Iran, and by accusing the rest of the world of responsibility for unrest and for killings you and your party line are the sole perpetrators of, you lost all credibility and all right to negotiate on behalf of Iran.

We did not "meddle" with Iran; we supported progress and the right to protest voter fraud, a progress that would have benefited Iran, its economy and its regional ambitions greatly, a progress lost in a shower of blood, bullets and acid from the sky.

Now we are forced to "meddle" to make sure Iran stays without the capacity to threaten, intimidate and attack people all over the world.

I rest assured the majority of conscientious Westerners and their leadership will feel the same way, and I am pretty sure your Arab neighbours won't protest much.
